Bringing Power to the People is a history of the workers who built, maintain, and operate the electrical system in Washington State and beyond.
It includes everything from a synopsis of regional electrification to an explanation of why linemen once wore bowler hats.
Throughout the existence of IBEW Local #77 (a Washington State local of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers), its members have supported one another–under different employers and across a variety of trades–to gain living wages and safer working conditions while providing reliable electricity to the Pacific Northwest. Their solidarity over decades documents what workers together can accomplish.
